Holler Gallery shows and sells the work of Appalachian artists in multiple genres, ranging from traditional folk craft (such as pottery, quilting, and glasswork) to contemporary visions of the region.

The gallery and gift shop is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 1pm to 5pm and Saturdays from 10am to 5pm.

Our Story

We are a non-profit fine art gallery near the coal fields of central Appalachia.

We showcase a variety of professional artists from across the region, ranging from Pennsylvania to Georgia.

Holler Gallery is a renovated space; previously as the Virginia Bank of Commerce in 1917 and repurposed as an art gallery to showcase local artists in a professional space.

The goal is to promote emerging artists in a professional setting 100 years later, after several businesses have come and gone, the Holler Gallery was established in 2017. Founder and artist Chase Bowman created Holler as a venue for fine Appalachian art.

In 2020, Richard Shrewsbury took over as Gallery Director and has maintained the established Appalachian aesthetic, while expanding the focus on art education and community involvement.

Holler Gallery hosts open call shows in tandem with special event exhibits. This allows emerging artists the opportunity to show their work in a professional setting and share their passion with others.
